ABOUT GUSTAV MÜLLER:

Background: Influences

Coming from a small town in germany, I discovered the power of sound and music at the age of 17 I discovered bands like Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson (way before the sexual abuse accusations around him) and KMFDM and how their sound, melody and harmony perfectly captured their artistic vision. At the same time I came across my first political influences like Marx, Hegel, Nietzsche and Berthold Brecht. So I started getting inspired…

Process: The "Do it Yourself" Ethos

Because I always had the full creative control of every little aspect of my projects, I‘m highly motivated to go through all creative processes by myself. Everything from playing the instruments to recording, mixing and mastering is DiY… (with exception of my first EP, which was mastered by the great Konstantin Fischer)

Results: "Zeitgeist"

My projects are a representation of everything I see happening around me. But the results are not necessarily neutral about the observations bring up brought up in my work. I´m convinced that "art changes hearts without breaking bodies" and therefore I think art should be more than just a simple moral compass to feel confirmed by.

That's also why my lyrics often don't directly represent my thoughts or opinions!
